Spreading a little happiness

Our friends at Aldi Herne Bay have often supported us but last week when Miss Grange, our Family Liaison Officer, went to collect donations for the food bank she came back with more than she bargained on ... bunches and bunches of beautiful blooms. We, in turn, were able to pass these on to some of the older members of our community. Briary parent, Mrs Caroline Roy, who works for Age UK Herne Bay, helped to distribute these along with letters and pictures from the children.

Attainment in reading, writing and mathematics in Key Stage 2 at Briary

79% of our Year 6 children reached the expected score in reading, writing and mathematics in 2018, 14% higher than National levels and 11% higher than the average for Kent schools.

Individual subject results again show an uplift on last year and compare favourably with National outcomes. In readingKey Stage 2 attainment of the expected standard and of the high standard was significantly above national and in the highest 20% of all schools in 2019 as well as in 2018. This was also true of mathematics in 2019.
