Welcome to Briary School

We are a friendly, welcoming and approachable school where the senior leadership are happy to speak to parents before or after school in the playground, and we really value the good relationships we have with our parents.

We have a strong ethos of valuing children and we believe that when children are happy and enjoying school they will achieve their full potential in their learning. So we do everything we can to make our school a place where every child wants to be: safe, secure, valued, enjoying learning and through exposure to a broad curriculum and excellent teaching, experiencing the feeling of success. We hope to develop a growth mindset in all our children, so that they never place limits on their potential.

Briary Primary School was judged as GOOD in all areas by OfSTED in November 2013, with the following comment

“Pupils in all classes make faster progress than in most other schools”

The school continues to improve in all areas, gaining the Healthy Schools award, Eco-School Green Flag status and Extended Schools status, and by introducing a Behaviour Policy which rewards children who always behave well and is rigorous on those who don’t.

Children at Briary make good progress. Our latest SATs Results were as follows:-

In KS1

  • 80% made at least L2B in Reading
  • 88% made at least L2B in Maths
  • 67% made at least L2B in Writing
