Sports Premium

At Briary we have a strong tradition of taking an active part in inter-school competitions and employing specialist coaches to coach in curriculum time, all of whom have links to local sports clubs.

Last year we were awarded the coastal prize for entering the most competitions out of all the schools in the Herne Bay and Whitstable area. Our performance is sometimes successful and sometimes less so, but we see it as the opportunity to represent the school in competitive situations that is important.

The sports premium funding for the academic year 2015/16, has enabled us to enhance this by increasing further our participation in competitions and increasing coaching hours. We have also improved our gymnastics and other sports equipment.

A break down of the spending of the sports premium is below.
